We need YOU!
It’s been a year of change (no, not like in the White House) but right here in our own neighborhood. Our DWNA President and Secretary (Mark and Wendy Wooten) relocated in June to Chicago which left us with several officer vacancies. We would like to have a dynamic year in 2010 and can do that with people like YOU volunteering a little time to help coordinate events and keep everything running smoothly.

For those of you who are new to ‘The Woods’ - “Welcome!” We love our neighborhood and are glad you joined us. By way of background, DWNA is a volunteer neighborhood association that runs solely off of the annual dues paid by those residents who desire to help add to the beauty of the grounds and protect the safety of our residents. Attached you will find a Financial Report illustrating our current financial situation - the bottom line is that the funds are running out quickly - our participation level this year was not ideal and as a result we do not have funds available to pay our primary expenditure for the remainder of the year - lights. For those of you who participated in 2009 - a BIG THANK YOU - for those of you who didn’t, please reconsider and join DWNA in 2010.

DWNA would like to be more than an intermediary to keep the lights on - we’d like to be a social network to keep residents informed of crime reports, an outlet to exchange information (sales of goods, community events, etc.) a hand to lend in time of need, and a great way to come to know your neighbors through social events!

We have openings for President, Secretary, Social Chairperson and Communications.

Did you know that approximately 15% of the 2nd grade at Mt. Olive Elementary School lives in Dorsett Woods?
Did you know that we have Firemen, Coaches, PTA Presidents, Real Estate agents, Lawyers, Nurses, Painters, Anesthetists, Dentists, Homemakers, Home builders, Teachers, Bankers and CEO’s to name a few? We are a diverse group with many talents and things to bring to a great neighborhood.

We’d prefer to communicate via email so please indicate your street address and email address when you remit your dues - thanks and Happy Fall!

Please mail in your 2010 dues as soon as possible. Annual dues are $100 per household; however, if they are received before the end of this year you can take a 10% discount and only pay $90 (if you don’t get them in this year and you pay in January you will need to remit the full $100).
